The development and construction activities being interlinked, there is a good scope for aluminum fabrication units for meeting the growing demand of new buildings for offices, business and shopping complexes, theatres etc. Aluminum fabricated and anodized items like doors, windows, railings, stair cases, shelves, ladders etc. are being increasingly used in the modern constructions on considerations of durability and appearance. The project aims to address Pupil’s livelihood needs for income generation, while halting and reversing the trend of the forest loss and related environmental degradation in Kumba II district through promoting vegetable and fruit tree growing and agro-forestry systems. Fruit growing and agro-forestry practices are currently a low-key economic activity in Kumba. Tree and forest resources have significantly diminished due to an increase of people depending on them for survival as well as a lack of alternatives. Furthermore, in Kumba pupils have limited knowledge and skills in modern technologies, appropriate farming practices, proper post-harvest handling and quality control, and effective marketing skills. By working in partnership with other partners, PHODEC aims to bring sustainable development and positive change to the lives of those in need.
The project seeks to raise local community awareness on the impact of unsustainable household lighting practices, local kerosene wick lamps, burning candles and other local methods of poor household lighting in the Areas on the well being of local populations and the environment. The project will address issues of environmental protection by introducing and promoting alternative household lighting activities to solar energy conservation.The beneficiary will be involve in all stage of project implementation so that its sustainability is guaranteed. Duration one year and to reach over 4 communities of an estimated population of 3000 inhabitants in the project area.
